First try at crocheting this little ornament :^) I think she turned out cute!!!
My daughter-in-law asked me to make Christmas stockings for our granddaughters cheer team. They picked out three different Satin fabrics. They decided at first for the ruffle on the top but they are going to add some very beautiful bows, one with each girls name. So I was thinking the cuff would work better for that.
Today I will sew all the linings, then get to work on each stocking. I am not fond of sewing satin fabric. UGH!!! It frays terribly and is so slippery. But I can do it. Hopefully I will have all 14 done by Thanksgiving. That is my goal.
We are having an Advent Fair for the children at church after Mass on December 7th. I found this craft to do with them and have made three so far so I am familiar with putting them together. I have all the supplies now other than the tacky glue. I used a hot glue gun for mine but we don't want any burned little fingers. Some of the children are as young as 2 so we will have plenty of helpers for this project.
It will be chaos!!! We always have doughnuts after Mass so the children will have had some sugar before they come to our craft table.
We also have games for them, so it will be a really fun day for all of us!!
Take care and thanks for the visit!!

Well aren't you the busy bee?! Cute crocheted ornament, and yes, I'd call that a success. I can't imagine the challenge of making 14 SATIN Christmas stockings! Bless your heart. That fabric is definitely challenging to work with. And those little angels are adorable. What a nice thing to offer to lead at your church. I bet you have a wonderful time. A suggestion... have each child (or parent) write the year on the ornament back. They'll appreciate that info when the kids are in their 20s.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the date suggestion for the angel, that is perfect!!! I think we are going to have a lot of fun with the children!! I am a little worried about the satin stockings, hoping they will turn out good. I've gotten all the linings sewn since that is easy to do. Now onward to the satin. I am giving myself two full days to sew and put them together. It would be so great to have them done by Thanksgiving to give to my daughter-in-law.
