I spent a lot of time cutting out these Chasubles for our kids to decorate with coordinating ribbons at vacation bible school this summer in June.
I cut #350 felt chasubles in total including cutting #350 ribbons to fit.
I then package up two peg dolls per baggie along with a set of 5 chasubles.
The kids got to paint their sisters and priests and then glue the ribbons to the chasubles.
They had so much fun which makes all the work well worth it.
The kids also got their own treasure/travel trunk to decorate. We talked about priests and sisters going out on mission and how in the olden days there were no suitcases. A large trunk carried your belongings. Their little priests and chasubles fit perfectly in these trunks!!!
They also made little churches and we discussed how we bring Jesus to the people.
I printed the bible verse in different colors on card stock. Theirs were much more decorated then mine.
They also got to plant terrariums and learn how to nurture plants, just like we nurture our children.
It was a wonderful week for us and the children!!!

What lovely craft gifts you designed for VBS kids! So much work for you, but such a delightful project for each of the children. You're very generous with your time, and I hope all your efforts have significant meaning for each of the children. I'm smiling too because our church has more than 2,000 kids attending VBS. Only an army of crafty people could prep enough kits for such a crowd! Bless you for all you're doing to help raise Godly children.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Linda! Over 2000 children in your church, that is amazing. I cannot even imagine how many people it would take to prepare for VBS with that many children, so much fun work for them all!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was just three of us preparing for our little group and we are already brainstorming for next year even though we have no idea what the theme will be. We can make it work!!! I am trying to come up with an idea using fabric for one of our crafts so if you have any ideas I would love for you to share with me.
