I will try entering a quilt again, just not sure when or what venue. But it would be a lot of fun to have a quilt accepted into a national show!!! Someday!!!!
Take Care, Happy Quilting, and talk to you soon!! Be sure to keep those scissors sharp!! Martha
Amazing quilt. I love everything: the design, the fabrics and your quilting. Congrats with your finsih and many more finishes in 2016!!!
ReplyDeleteThank You Maarje! Even though it was rejected, it was so nice to get another one actually finished!!! I am planning on a record number of finishes this year-lots of hopes!!!
DeleteIt's a great quilt. I remember reading that a number of quilters were unhappy with the selections and judging in last year's show, so don't let this bother you. Just figure out what the judges like (they aren't impartial as I learned by being a scribe one year) and have another go at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marti!! I know that personal preference comes in to play with the judging. I will try again someday!!! I think I will enter the state fair in August, they don't refuse any quilts!!!
Deletesorry about the rejection shame that it will not be seen at the show as I am sure it would be admired and talked about
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret!!! At least I can hang it at work where a lot of patients will see it. We have 5 providers upstairs and not sure about the downstairs, so lots and lots of patients!!! They enjoy my quilts :^)
DeleteHi Martha, I'm Guest Curator at the Ontario Museum of History & Art titled "Modern Quilts: Redesigning Traditions". I'd love to see your Quilt Con "reject" or anyone else's that fit that criteria be submitted to this event. Call for Submissions goes online February 22.
ReplyDeleteThank You Georganna!! I would love to submit my quilt. I will check out the museum and see if I can figure out how to go about the process!!!
