HandiQuilter is putting on a contest!!HandiQuilter has joined forces with AllPeopleQuilt.com for a fabulous contest!! Four quilters will win a trip to HandiQuilter's headquarters and spend a whole three days in August working with HQ quilt educators and finish one of their own quilts.
Sounds like a blast to me so I entered the above quilt!!!
I started this quilt back in September 2012!!! And I just finished the top after putting on a couple outer borders.
The design was part of an AQS Mystery Quilt, designed by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr. It was a lot of fun and the quilt is awesome!!!
Here's a few photos of the progression of the quilt. There was a lot of sewing involved in just 6 reveals, at least I think there was just six!!!
This was my finished top, minus the binding of course!!! It still isn't quilted. Which is why I thought it would be a great one to enter in the contest.
I felt that it needed a bit more and have thought about it off and on for the past couple years. Finally I came up with a plan and connected the dots, Which is the name of this quilt now,
"Connect The Dots" One of my favorite quiet time activities as a child!!
Below is the comparison of before borders and after. I am really pleased with the results!!!! You can see our little Bailey in the photo, she is a sweetie!!! But very bossy!!
So, there is still time to enter your quilt top in the contest. You have until July 14th!!! Let me know if you decided to join in on the fun!!! And good luck to those of you who decide to enter. Whoever does win the trip, I wish them the best of times, it will be fun and educational!!!
Take Care, Happy Quilting, and keep those minds sharp!!! Martha
