I've been making quilted postcards for my Etsy store and for the postcard exchange groups I belong to. Lots of fun to make these little gems!!!
I've got a few more in the works too!!!
Happy Quilting friends, Take care and keep those scissors sharp!!! Martha

Oh my gosh....they are fabulous, the pink on is my favorite....wonderful work! I need to check out your shop
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb!! They are fun to make and a great way to practice free motion quilting!!! The postal workers are always so surprised when we bring in these little gems to mail!!!
DeleteThose are really great. Your binding with thread is perfect. I have tried to get my machine to sew nice like that but no luck. What kind of thread or stitch do you use..if I can ask?
ReplyDeleteHi Kris! Thanks for the comment!! So I use at least a 40 wt thread if possible, often I will use the regular sewing thread made by Coats and Clark. I do a regular wider zigzag stitch first, then do a satin stitch at least 3-4 times around the edge. That's why it looks so nice. I go around until everything is covered well!!!
DeleteThey are beautiful!! I have to make one for this summers fund raiser for Wendy's Wish. One of the fabric companies donates 2 pieces of fabric and then you add your own...a select few are chosen for framing and are auctioned off...it is an amazing event! if you are interested here is the link!

Thanks Anna, I will check out the Wendy's Wish event, that would be fun to donate to!!
DeleteThese are adorable :) Is there a way to stamp them and send them through the mail? Just curious, because I am pen pals with one of my granddaughters:)
ReplyDeleteKeep Smiling,
Connie :)
You can mail them, the stamps the post office puts on them seem to stick just fine. I put my postcards in a clear envelope and the stamp goes on that, also with no problems!!!
DeleteLove them! Why do you always make me want to drop everything & try what you are doing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti!! At least these are little and quick to do!!! Hope you try doing them, so much fun!!!
DeleteYour quilted postcards are always so wonderful Martha. I am in love with the dandelion one!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lara!! That is my kind of dandelion!!! I can remember making wishes on those and my dad going into panic mode!!! Now I do when the grandson is blowing wishes!!!
DeleteYou may have answered this before but I am wondering where you got the postcard stamp for the mailing info side?
ReplyDeleteHi!! I found my stamp at Hobby Lobby. I think you can also order it online from them!!
DeleteI am fascinated that your edges are so perfect and strong.
