This has been an amazing year of learning. I have used different battings that I never thought to use before, I've become much braver with free motion feathers and I actually don't have to mark them if I don't want to!! I learned about different needles to use with machine quilting, like using a top stitch needle!!! I have experimented with many different threads and designs as you can see in the photos.
I have many unfinished quilts that just need machine quilting and I am ready to tackle them. I have so many quilting "tool" now and I am excited to get started on using them. I am also excited about teaching quilters who live near me the skills I have learned from this amazing experience!!!

Thank-you first to SewCalGal for a year of quilting. And thank you to all our teachers. You have all blessed us with your knowledge and with kind hearts of sharing!!

Martha

  9. Martha! What beautiful work! I did one or two months of the MQ challenge - I'm very impressed.
I'm doing a barter for some work (my plumber :) and he would like a king size quilt. He had no idea what he wanted, and I told him to google quilts and get an idea of what the likes. The picture he sent me was your March challenge quilt (feathers with loop-to-loop). Of course I never expected him to select something like this - not sure if I even want to attemp it (old quilter, new longarmer). But he needs to understand there is a difference between a king size and a wall hanging. Would you mind sending me the dimensions of the quilt?
Absolutely loved the progress pics and think I need to try a sampler.
Did you trapunto the purple feathers?

    Thanks for your blog!!
