Hand Crocheted Coin Purses with liner
I've been crocheting in the evenings and when out camping with friends. I will be putting these in my Etsy store but wanted to hear from my friends about what you think of these???
I added a photo of ones that are pretty much done and waiting to be lined and a zipper sewn in. I'm working on the best process for that, so far it is going OK but not perfect procedure. At least the end result is good!!!
I love having a coin purse to keep my cash and change in, that way I always know where it is and I can grab it out of my big purse easily. These are 100% cotton and are so nice to crochet. I am not a quick crocheter but I do enjoy it.
So what are your thoughts????
I'll wait..........

I think it's a lovely idea to crochet a zipper pouch. I mean, if you can crochet, and you enjoy it, what else might you do with your pieces? Lining is a must, of course, to keep the contents safe. Are you using any stiffener, like SF101 or Deco Bond? Seems that might help the crochet keep its shape. I'm envisioning that after months of use, the crochet might sag. Am I wrong? Perhaps I am, and cotton yarn will hold its shape. In any case, I think these are lovely, and I hope you sell lots!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda!!! I am not using any stiffener but I will look up both of those that you mentioned. I am thinking about using one of these in my own purse to see how they hold up.
DeleteThe yarn I'm using is %100 cotton and not at all stretchy, although if gotten wet I do know that it stretches out.
Crocheting in the evening while watching TV with my husband is really enjoyable. I always need something in my hands and this is working. Otherwise I would want to be in the sewing room!!!
I should also be working on my miniatures as I have one in process and another in line waiting!!
Thanks for stopping in and the suggestions of the stiffeners!!
impressive work
