I made this quilt to donate to Ophelia's Place in Eugene Oregon
"Ophelia's Place is a prevention based organization dedicated to helping girls make healthy life choices through empowerment, education and support."
It was a lot of fun to quilt!!
I used Aurifil 50 wt thread to do all the quilting, top and bobbin!!
The brown is all thread. Lots and lots of thread!!!
FINISHED!!!
The finished size is about 21.25" square. The top is Dupioni silk, love quilting on that fabric and the back is 100% cotton. The batting is cotton on the bottom and Quilter's Dream Wool on the top. The two give such lovely texture.
That's about it for now. Sorry for the last of blogging, life has gotten so busy and at times tiring. Just not much energy after work these days. It's all I have just to keep up with household chores, yard chores, and work.
But, that is OK!! I am good :^)
Happy Quilting!!!! Martha
Wow, just wow! I thought you had done cut work, but I learned something new when I saw that it was tiny quilting that gave that look.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marilyn. I so appreciate your visiting my blog. The tiny quilting is really labor intensive but so worth every minute. I just love the results!!!
DeleteThat is gorgeous! And going to such a good cause. I thought it was cut work too. How long did it take you to quilt it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Marti!! It took me about 3 weeks to mark and quilt. It was a bit of a rush job because of the deadline looming over my head!!! I do not like when I put that kind of pressure on myself, but I am good at it!! hahahahaha!!!
DeleteAbsolutely stunning!Thank you so much for documenting your process! So helpful!
