New Years Resolution at work!!!

My New Years resolution is to finished unfinished projects.
It has taken me awhile to get back the joy of creating, sewing, quilting since the death of my sweet little Bailey.
The more I look back at the last six months of her life the more I can see how much she was struggling and it just breaks my heart.
She is no longer in pain and that is probably the only comfort I can find so far.
sooooo
time to get back to the sewing room!!!

I started this little quilt many moons ago and it is going to get finished this weekend!!!
😀😀😀

It will be so great to get another project out of the to-do pile!!!

Before I started back on this I was making interchangeable collars for my grandson's other grandmother. It is a project that has been sitting here for several months, but I just could not get started on it.
I am happy to announce that they are done!!!
I used this collar she had as the pattern and made three more out of fur fabric she bought.

Needless to say, I have fur everywhere!!!

I also pinned a really old quilt top!!! So that will be next on the agenda.

We are having a freezing rain storm this weekend, so I am not venturing outside at all. Luckily I have plenty to do inside.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you are all well.
Happy Quilting!!!
Martha

  1. Hi Martha! While I understand the grief you've been experiencing, I'm glad to know you're back to making. That can be so therapeutic - good for the soul - and I'm glad you've been able to tackle some want-to-finish projects. That small quilt is lovely. Is that a damask fabric you used for binding? Whatever it is, it sure suits the intricacy of the piece. Your quilting is stunning! And interchangable collars? I've never heard of such a thing. Are they snapped into place? Whatever... you've made them look professional. Yay for another basted quilt top! You're tackling your WIPs/UFOs just as I am these days. Hooray for us! Keep finishing!

    1. Thank you Linda. I am not sure the type of fabric of the binding. I have had it for years and was planning on making a bag or purse with it. It is very heavy and not suitable for a binding but it goes with the quilt so well so I am tackling it!!
The collars attach to the jacket with five buttons that are sewn onto the jacket. The collars have elastic loops and a half square triangle on the corners for the corner of the collar to slide into.
I hadn't heard of interchangeable collars either, but she has another jacket that came with one.
      Who Knew!!!!
It does feel good to be on the road to recovery. Grief is really a difficult emotion to work through but I am determined and your kind words help also!!!
I will be watching to see your accomplishments this year too!!! Yes, Hooray for us and those that benefit from our work!!!
