Flag quilt-an old UFO

I thought I would pull this one out and get working on it again. I really cannot even remember when I started it, several years ago. So the goal is to have it done by the 4th of July

I have been so busy with making masks that I did not do any quilting!!! I really missed it, so now I am doing both. Only one more mask to make and the requests are caught up. 311 masks to date!!! Not a bad endeavor!!!

I hope you are all well and safe in all this recent trauma.

Blessing to you

Martha

  1. Perfectly lovely Martha! After making many masks I bought a box of those disposable ones at Walgreens and found them to be much more breathable than two layers of fabric in the hot humid weather we've been having. Hoping we can put all this behind us, sooner than later.

    1. Hi Pat!! The masks can be difficult at times. I wear both the home made ones and the disposable. Disposable at work all day and the cloth when I have to be out and about which is seldom. I too will be glad when this is behind us but it appears to now be extended!!! Ah well, some of us learn quickly and others refuse. We have two family members in the hospital with covid, my nephew in Georgia and his 5 year old daughter. Very worried and praying for them daily. I hope you and your family stay safe and well!!!!

  2. That is neat! I like the star pattern. 311? Wow!

I got super brave and tried to make a mask.

After some confusion, a bit of swearing, and a minor burn when I got to close to the lightbulb on my sewing machine... I did it! Actually, I did up 2!!! Which is saying something, since I am still learning how to sew...

Husband doesn't like the strap kind, so I figured out how to put elastic on it. It may not be featured in Better Homes and Gardens, but it worked.

    1. I am glad you tried making the masks. After making a few it got really easy to where I didn't need to read the instructions. So far I've made 318 and now I have about 35 more requests, so back to mask sewing!!! Which is hard because it is garden time. I love being outside. Take Care Cat and Happy 4th!!!
