Honorable Mention!!! Wahoo!!! :^)

Look what came in the mail today!!! I did not know my little postcard below won Honorable Mention in the Michael Miller Challenge at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show in Sisters Oregon!!! How exciting!! My little card brought in $275 for Wendy's Wish, a local non-profit organization that assists with non-medical expenses for people undergoing cancer treatment in Central Oregon. you can also see my card here!!! WOW!!! I had no idea!!!!!!

Today was our quilt guild meeting. We meet at 10am at the Senior Center here in Lebanon. I did the program today. It consisted of discussing using our leftovers as the basis for design. We had a really small group as most are out and about on vacations or possibly working.

If you would like to check us out, here is our guild blog. We are called the Santiam Scrappers!! Guild-2/25/15.

That's all for now. I need to put all my things back and re-organize the sewing room!!!

Take Care, Happy Quilting, and keep those pins sharp!!! Martha

I'm doing them a little different now, using Pellon Extra Firm, it isn't quite as heavy as the Peltex and I like the results better!!
I should do another tutorial soon with exactly how I am now doing it. But this post from 2013 will get you on your way and it has links to a couple other tutorials by friends of mine. Hope that helps!!!

    1. Thank you Margaret!! I love that little postcard, it was fun to do for such a great cause. But also reminds me of home. I grew up on the Oregon coast and remember finding sand dollars while my mom and dad dug for razor clams!!!

    1. Hi Pat and Thank You!! Yes, that little postcard is SO Oregon. I have many memories of finding sand dollars at the beach. We went to Gearhart a lot to dig for clams. I would hunt for shells while the parents dug in the sand!!! We are having a hot summer but the garden is loving it!! We are already eating lots of cucumbers and tomatos!!! Take Care!!!
