Visiting quilt shops when traveling

I found some "Day of the Dead" or, Dia de los Muertos, fabric in Phoenix!! I've been wanting to make some little quilted wall hangings with this theme, so I now have a good start to my collection!!!

Here's all the fat quarters I bought today!!! I tried to keep it at a minimum as they have to go into the suitcase and on the plane eventually!!! These were bought at a sew and vac place in Phoenix with an amazing amount of fabric!!! Like 5000 plus bolts.

Still, I like the little quilt shops best. The ones who are small and owned by individuals. We went to one such place called The Other Quilt Shop.

Very cute shop, and Sherry is very sweet!!! You can find her online shop here: www.theotherquiltshop.com

I bought some nice fabrics from her which were nice quality!! I love solids, so I got one and a couple 30's prints for my Dear Jane quilt. The one on the far left is for my guild challenge quilt. Not sure how it will be incorporated into the quilt, but it will find its way in one way or the other!!!

So, that's about it for the moment. I brought several quilts to work on while here, so plenty to do. Although, a nap sounds really good about now!!!

Take care, Happy Quilting, and keep those scissors sharp!!! Martha :-)
