Stupendous Stitching

This is one of my projects for the class I am taking at Craftsy!! The class is called Stupendous Stitching and is taught by Carol Ann Waugh.
I;m not sure if I like it on the horizon, or vertical!!?? We shall see!!!
I haven't started the hand embroidery on this one yet, still thinking about it.
This is the other project I am working on. I do like this one on the horizontal setting. It just appeals to me more. I have also started the hand embroidery on this piece, still more to do, but it is coming along.
Some of my handwork, I am so very slow at this, but it gives me something to do in the evenings while we watch tv!!

I've watched all the videos for the class now, so just need to purchase a couple items to finish these. I will post the finished pieces when done.

Take care, Happy Quilting or whatever your Hobby for Health is, and keep those needles sharp!! Martha

This is what we woke up to Friday morning!!
So, no school. So Coop and I painted!!
I drew a monster school bus for Cooper to paint, per his wishes!!
Then we went for a walk!

His daddy didn't work, so he came and got him before noon, which gave me time to sew!!

Cut and ready to go!!

MugRug Exchange

We're having our annual End of the Year Celebration Dinner at our Guild tonight and we're doing a mugrug/coaster exchange. I forgot all about it until Sunday afternoon!!! EEEK!!!

So I went searching on the internet for a fun and easy mugrug pattern. Yes, I could have designed my own, but, I have so many things going on I decided to go find one. And I did just that. I found this really cute tutorial at Terri's blog-SEWFANTASTIC!! You can find the tutorial here :^)

 And sew it begins!
Easy piecey!
All rows done and ready to sew together!
All sewn
White borders added.
Trimmed
Quilted. some of my lines are not straight, but who's looking!?? :^)
Trimmed again.
Binding done and mugrug finished!! I sewed it on the back and machine stitched it to the front to save time and since it should be used a lot, it will be more durable in the wash.
With the extra time, I decided to make a couple coasters for the lucky new owner!
Ta da!! Done with time to spare. I even made a batch of brownies this morning while sewing. The brownies are for our dessert. We have about a dozen members bringing pot luck desserts. The food is being catered by our local Italian restaurant. Vegetarian Lasagna, Salad, Breadsticks=Yummy meal and fabulous company!!
