Sewing/Quilting with the Grandson

Several weeks ago, I decided it was time to do some sewing with my grandson who is now 3 years old. You have to start sometime!!!

I had some novelty fabrics already cut into 6 1/2 inch squares and had him pick out his favorites for his quilt. We then sat, as in the above photo, and sewed those squares together!! Sometimes we got just two done, and sometimes a whole row on 5 squares!!!

His job was to: pick the sequence of squares,  work the reverse button, and pull out the pins and put them into the pincushion.

Here is Cooper holding up his quilt top!!!

And wearing his little quilt top!!!

Next we will be adding a large border print of race cars. I will then machine quilt it and he will have a quilt that he helped to make!!!

Until later, Happy Quilting and keep those needles sharp!! Martha
