Quilting & Sewing with the Grand-daughter/Riding the Harley Davidson Road King

This is our grand-daughter Alex, (she goes by Bobbie), working on a quilt we started several years ago!!! She is spending the weekend with us, so out came that forgotten project!!

Last night we decided to take her to the races at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon Oregon!! She got to ride on grandpa's Harley Davidson RoadKing to the race track!! (Don't worry, she did wear a helmet, just didn't want the photo taken with the huge helmet on!!)

It was a great night at the races as they had the sprint cars racing. It was a ton of fun and it was her first time there. She loved it!!!

This morning when she woke up she headed outside into the backyard and picked this bowl of blueberries!!! She is just awesome and great to have around, I love when she comes to stay with us!!

So today we are working on her quilt! It is an easy pattern and quite beautiful. She picked most of the fabrics out of my stash, and a few we purchased!!

Here she is piecing her block

She is just learning how to use this sewing machine,  a Husqvarna Viking Lily 540.  Usually she sews on my old Husqvarna 60 20 that I have had since I was 15 years old. It is still my favorite machine to piece my quilts with!!

This is a fun project to do together. She actually can do most of it on her own, so I am working on my own project right next to her. Handy having two sewing machines side by side!!! We are both left handed too!!!

Happy Quilting friends, take care, keep those needles sharp, and spread the joy of quilting!!
